Sat on the power line this morning with my good friend and saw several turkeys and heard even more out in the woods. Finally got 2 jakes to line up for us.

It’s mid September so that means hunting season is on. I love white tail season, but nothing gets me geared up for the year like the small game opener, with squirrel season being my favorite.
This was my first fox squirrel of the year, nabbed with my “squirrel stick”, a CZ 457 with a rugged oculus can to keep things quiet in the woods. The squirrels seem to be plentiful this year so the crockpot will probably be full through the season.
